The PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is jointly offered by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It is a standardized test taken by 9th and 10th grade students in order to give them a feel of the actual SAT.

The PSAT test gives students a sense of the format, question types, content, and time limits that they will encounter on the SAT. The PSAT is like the SAT in terms of syllabus. However, it is a much shorter test, with a duration of 2 hours 45 minutes.
