The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

About The GMAT

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) that is the gateway to professionals wishing to speed their entry to top post graduate B-schools, both in India and abroad, is offered throughout the year at various centers around the world. Schools such as ISB in India and Harvard in the USA require one to do well in this test to be accepted into their programme.

The GMAT is 3 hours 40 minutes long. It tests writing, reasoning and mathematical skills developed in the course of graduate studies. It does not require any knowledge of management or business. One is, however, expected to be familiar with standard American English.

It must be noted that the GMAT will adopt a new format from June 2012 wherein the Analytical Writing Assessment section has a new section Integrated Reasoning that replaces the Analysis of an Issue Essay. The Analysis of an Argument Essay will be followed by this new Reasoning section that tests the skills of candidates to cope with the demands of analysing data in the real business world.
